Lindsey and Zach’s Destination Wedding in Tequila, Mexico: A Celebration of Love and Resilience

When Lindsey and Zach envisioned their dream wedding, they imagined a destination that embodied magic, love, and celebration. Tequila, Mexico, became the backdrop for their incredible journey, filled with unforgettable moments and heartfelt surprises.

From the initial bus ride into the picturesque town to tequila tastings, a welcome dinner with live Mariachi music, and New Year’s fireworks, Lindsey and Zach planned an epic party that captivated every guest.

A Friendship That Blossomed into Collaboration

We’ve had the privilege of working with Lindsey not just as the talented founder of Magnolia Event Design but also as a dear friend. Lindsey has always emphasized the power of videography to capture life’s precious moments—a passion that carried through to her own wedding celebrations.

It’s no wonder Zach entrusted us to document his proposal to Lindsey, along with photographer Emily Leppoke. Their journey began with an unforgettable surprise engagement party-turned-wedding, a testament to their creativity and love.

The Dream of a Destination Wedding in Tequila, Mexico

Though COVID altered their original plans, Lindsey and Zach never gave up on their dream of a destination wedding. Two years after their engagement party, they gathered family and friends in Tequila, Mexico, for a celebration unlike any other.

  • Bride’s Look: Lindsey stunned in her Pronovias gown from the first wedding, enhanced with a custom hand-painted bow train by Emily Plank, adorned with blue flowers, butterflies, and a hummingbird in honor of their family and their son, Parker.
  • Groom’s Attire: Zach complemented Lindsey’s elegance in a black tuxedo, dark blue Gucci loafers, and a midnight velvet bow tie, accessorized with meaningful frog prince cufflinks.

A Heartfelt Ceremony at Hacienda El Centenario

The wedding ceremony, officiated by their dear friend Sophie, was a rollercoaster of emotions. Held at the breathtaking Hacienda el Centenario, it was filled with laughter, tears, and heartfelt moments.

Guests were treated to an authentic Mexican experience with Charro dancers, Mariachi music during cocktail hour, and, of course, plenty of tequila. The night continued with a three-course dinner, live music, and a vibrant painted dance floor that set the stage for hours of dancing.

Unforgettable Highlights from the Wedding Weekend

  • Late-Night Churros & Fireworks: Guests re-energized with churros before midnight fireworks welcomed the new year.
  • A Tribute to Family: Every detail, from the painted bow train to Zach’s cufflinks, was a loving nod to their son Parker and the couple’s journey.
