Full Moon Summer Wedding | S+S
July 11, 2019

From our beautiful bride, Sierra, “Our wedding turned out even better than we could have ever imagined! Our venue the Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm turned out to be so special. The ceremony site overlooked the ocean and off in the distance you could see the Hollister Ranch. For our first date, Sean and I went surfing at the Hollister Ranch. We get pretty sentimental about the little things and we also have so much fun going to concerts and enjoy music, so we designed our wedding around those details.

First and foremost, I have always had an affinity for old trucks so I knew I had to add that detail for my wedding to have my Dad drive me out to the ceremony site. The truck was a 1964 Ford F-150 and I had seen it over the years around Santa Barbara when I lived there. The very first time I saw it was when I was frantically searching for a place to rent for the summer after I had graduated college. I had told my mom that I wanted to stay the summer because I found a job,

although the real reason was that I had met Sean. So that day back in 2012 I snapped a photo of this gorgeous old truck on the street in Santa Barbara. Fast forward, about 6 years later and when I went looking for a truck to rent for our wedding was very challenging. Then a friend of a friend connected me with low and behold the owners of that beautiful 1964 Ford truck that I had always admired and they rented us their truck for our wedding. The most memorable part of our wedding for me was pulling up in the truck with my Dad and seeing all of our friends and family with Sean waiting for me at the end of the aisle.

Another detail that was so special to me was the flowers and other décor details. Our florist was a close friend of ours, Caitlyn Rylander of Fleur de Rye. She translated all of my Pinterest boards, late-night texts, and long talks into the most amazing flowers I have ever seen at a wedding! Our first vacation was to Hawaii and we initially almost planned to have our wedding there. For our wedding, I wanted to have the most amazing blend of tropical flowers and it came out so beautiful and tasteful! Another Hawaii detail that was very special to us as our guest book. It was an Alaia surfboard made from wood from the North Shore of Oahu. Additionally, my parents met and lived on the North Shore of Oahu for a long time so having that as our guest book meant so much.

Our DJ Gavin Roy played amazing oldies and dance music the whole night. I could not stay off the dance floor! Then the grand finale of our wedding was a silent disco. Many people were skeptical of it, although it turned out to be the biggest dance party and everyone still talks about how that was the best part of the wedding!
