Did someone say Santa Barbara Mission Proposal?! Oh, and it’s a surprise!!! Yes, please! Now, proposals are our jam but surprise proposals get out of town. Laura was, of course, going to be surprised when she realized the picnic at the Mission also included an engagement ring and 15 of her closest friends but Nasim had no idea that Laura’s friends had hired us to document the whole thing! Talk about some amazing friends!
The excitement was palpable when we parked the car. Laura and Nasim’s friends pulled up right behind us at the Mission and when they stepped out with gold balloons that said CONGRATS it all came together. Felicia popped her head out and whispered are you here for the thing? They surely were and we all had a good laugh. The group of friends just kept growing and growing. There was a buzz in the air and everyone was ready and out of sight.
Leading up to the proposal at the Mission Laura was super pumped that they were actually going to wear real clothes and exit the house to have a date night post-COVID shelter in place. Laura recalls, “looking back, Nasim was so nervous and acting so odd that it makes me laugh. He actually got in the car and forgot me in the house on the way to the proposal at the Mission!”
When Laura and Nasim arrived they set up their blankets and cooler. Moments after Nasim got down on his knee and Laura was flooded with happiness. You know that kind of happiness that comes when your boyfriend finally proposes. That excitement was only accelerated when all of their best friends started to appear from the bushes and trees. Laura was flooded with shock and just lost it! She says that the ugly cry pictures confirm this!
Those girls running out of the bushes are the same girls that were there 10 years ago at Cal Poly when Nasim first entered the picture. They’ve been a part of all Laura’s favorite memories and having them there for that moment was an unexplainable feeling. They really completed it all.
It was a proposal that will go down in the history books for us friends! Every single person that was there felt like old friends to both of us and we were so thankful to share in this moment with all of them.
If you are helping plan a Santa Barbara Mission Proposal or a proposal anywhere in the world we want to be there with you! Let’s be besties!
xoxo…Your I Heart Girls!
